Week 8 - Scaffolding goes up and steel work is put in place

The scaffolding starts to go up ready for the next stage of brickwork.

The floor joists start to go in ready for the first floor and scoffolding is put in place down the side of the house as well. Our very very nice neighbours gave up permission to put this on their land :-)

Week 7 - Brick work begins

Brickwork as the back of the house and you can see the back doors in the dining part of the kitchen and a very large kitchen window. There will also be a small window and door coming off the utility/pantry (haven't decided what is it going to be yet)

The inner block work is layed and the bricks on the outside, this is the side of the house being built first. OOOoo very exciting :-) we were on holiday this week the first bricks being laid but we did get engaged!!!! Yay!!!

Week 6 - New floors are layed

You can really see the footprint of the house now as some of the rooms start to take shape.

Concrete is poured over the visqueen and again it had to be barrowed in so took a little while.

The sand and then the visqueen is layed in preparation for the floors.

Week 5 - Garage floor and drains go in.

The insulation is layed throughout the new part of the house and a channel is dug for the new drainage system. Originally we had to have 2 inspection chambers on the inside of the house but luckily we were able to move these outside.

The stone is layed in the garage as it doesn't need insulation in preparation for the sand and visqueen.

Week 4 - Blockwork on the concrete

The Foundation block work starts to go in on top of the concrete. Feels like things are going really slowly but you can start to see the outline of the house. This is the back of the house

This is the side of the house.

Week 3 - Foundation start to go in

The concrete is barrowed through and was pretty time consuming and took alot more than initial thought because of the depth.
